Step inside the photo booth with fun props for a series of photos that print out on a strip with your custom logo. It also has the ability email or upload directly to Facebook. The Ainsworth House and Garden’s in Oregon City is a beautiful venue for your wedding. A Country Wedding

Some of my favorite weddings happen in small places. I’m a small town boy at heart so I always feel at home at farm wedding venues in Oregon. On this beautiful, sunny day Becky and Zach had their country wedding at The Heiser Farm in Grand Island. The old barns and wide open fields allowed for very creative photography. I had decided that I wanted to create an entry of my favorite wedding detail photographs from last Summer. Very quickly I found that, if completed, it was shaping up to be the largest blog posting I have ever written. As a Portland wedding photographer I have the pleasure of working with some amazingly unique bride and grooms. It’s the personalities which shape the details that make up a fun and unique wedding. Oregon City Wedding Photographer

The Ainsworth House and Gardens was the Oregon wedding venue of choice for Aly and Chris. It was a beautiful day, amazing details, and best of all a truly wonderful couple to work with. It was an Oregon City wedding with country flair as the guitar carrying bride and bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots. Details like this are what make every wedding fun and different. I have to say that this was my first bouquet that included a long stem sunflower, which made for killer photographs and added to the country theme of their wedding.

St. Johns Wedding Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Kylee’s wedding under the St. Johns Bridge in Portland. I received a call from Molli, a wedding coordinator at Soiree, that one of her couples had a photographer cancel on them…for the next day! It just so happens that this was the only Sunday I had free on my calendar all Summer, which made me more than happy to fill in. The couple had booked a discount wedding photographer through Craigslist who called them to cancel the night before their wedding. It was a beautiful wedding under the St. Johns Bridge with a butterfly release as they walked out. Days like this make being a professional photographer in Portland feel amazing.

Black and White Photography

One thing that I don’t emphasize enough is my love for black and white photography. When I started my professional photography business I wanted to make sure that I didn’t lose my love for a beautiful black and white photograph that can ooze emotion without the need of super saturation of color. Truth be told I also have a love of deep, bold colors in wedding photos, as shown in most of my wedding galleries. However, this post is a nod to my favorite 2011 b&w wedding photos that show deep emotion without the use of color.

Wedding Photos at McMenamins

I love photographing weddings at any McMenamins venue. There are amazing backgrounds adorned with unique art and architecture around every corner. McMenamin’s Edgefield is no exception. From the winery, to the pool house we had such a great time taking wedding photos of Sarah and John. This was one of those ominous late fall weddings where rain is a definite possibility. Although it rained all week and the night before making an outdoor ceremony impossible we had a beautiful day in which to roam The Edgefield and make beautiful pictures. It was so great I might just have to start calling myself a Troutdale Wedding photographer.

Professional Photography in Oregon City

Melissa and Anthony received a call from me early last Saturday morning to see if they wanted to brave the 27 degree foggy weather. I had to hand it to both of them as they were not only willing, but also looked great in the below freezing temperatures. We took a break from the beautiful Fall engagement session photographs and had hot drinks at the Singer Hill Cafe. A pleasure to work for, I can’t wait for their wedding next summer.
