Beautiful Scappoose Creek Inn Wedding

It was my pleasure to photograph Adam and Meghan at the Scappoose Creek Inn. They kept it simple and beautiful allowing all of their guests to have a fun day on the old farm. Incorporating the fine details of a wedding is one of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer. The details are what make no two weddings alike. This was no exception. They had on site brick oven pizza, doughnuts instead of cake and metal pails for the floral centerpieces, and chickens that wanted to be in almost every photo. Kerri and I had a killer time at this farm style wedding.

Oregon Bride Resource Guide 2012

The Ainsworth House and Garden’s in Oregon City is a beautiful venue for your wedding. I had the opportunity to photograph there a few times last Summer and was honored when they asked for photographs for their ad in a Portland Wedding Guide magazine. A giant Thank You! also goes out to Kari and Kahlil, whose wedding was chosen for the ad. I feel truly blessed to be a wedding photographer for clients like you.

A Country Wedding

Some of my favorite weddings happen in small places. I’m a small town boy at heart so I always feel at home at farm wedding venues in Oregon. On this beautiful, sunny day Becky and Zach had their country wedding at The Heiser Farm in Grand Island. The old barns and wide open fields allowed for very creative photography. Oregon City Wedding Photographer

The Ainsworth House and Gardens was the Oregon wedding venue of choice for Aly and Chris. It was a beautiful day, amazing details, and best of all a truly wonderful couple to work with. It was an Oregon City wedding with country flair as the guitar carrying bride and bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots. Details like this are what make every wedding fun and different. I have to say that this was my first bouquet that included a long stem sunflower, which made for killer photographs and added to the country theme of their wedding.

St. Johns Wedding Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Kylee’s wedding under the St. Johns Bridge in Portland. I received a call from Molli, a wedding coordinator at Soiree, that one of her couples had a photographer cancel on them…for the next day! It just so happens that this was the only Sunday I had free on my calendar all Summer, which made me more than happy to fill in. The couple had booked a discount wedding photographer through Craigslist who called them to cancel the night before their wedding. It was a beautiful wedding under the St. Johns Bridge with a butterfly release as they walked out. Days like this make being a professional photographer in Portland feel amazing.

The Ainsworth House and Gardens

I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographer at the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City. The rainy weather didn’t keep us from having a great day and enjoying the beautifully maintained gardens. The tall columns of the house and the lazy path through the wooded area make perfect backdrops for endless photo opportunities. Once the formalities were over the couple adorned themselves with Disney Mickey and Minnie bridal ears, a perfect match to their Disney cake topper. Thank you goes out to Catering by Laurie for always providing top quality food. (I love the fruit displays!)

Evening Wedding in Canby

It was great to be a Canby Wedding Photographer for Brian and Carol. They were married at the Canby Pioneer Chapel on a killer sunny day. It was an intimate event that was kicked off by a very emotional first look inside the chapel. This couples love for each other set the tone for the day. Cutsforth Floral in Canby provided the gorgeous bouquets as usual.We ended the evening with a ride on the Canby Ferry at sunset. Thanks again to the operator that evening for giving us a ride on the house.

Abernethy Center Wedding in Oregon City

It was a beautiful day for an Oregon City wedding. Jenna and Brandon’s event at the Abernethy Center was awesome. The gorgeous floral work done by A Floral Affair had subtle hints of lime green that was reflected in the personalized Jones Soda everyone enjoyed. You could not ask for a more picture perfect backdrop on the grounds of Abigail’s Place at the Center for a lovely ceremony. DJ Barry McGuire had the guests rockin’ at the reception held at the Abernethy in the amazing outdoor venue. As day turned into starry night, the couple ended up at the gazebo for a final picture. The fortune cookies at the reception all had to say the same thing…..”it was a fantastic day”. Of course.

Rory and Candace’s Wedding in West Linn

Wow. We had a lot of fun with Candace and Rory on their wedding day. It all started at New Life Church in West Linn where the couple got dressed and had their ceremony. I loved the set of family heirloom figurines that were on the guestbook table and couldn’t resist placing the rings on them for a photograph. The couple did a first look before the ceremony which gave us plenty of time to get fun shots around the outside of the church. We also stopped traffic for a minute or so while we got the bridal party out in the middle of the road for a quick photo. After the ceremony the couple asked to get a few photos on the walkway overlooking the Willamette River and Falls in Oregon City where they got engaged. How could I turn down a ride in a killer Mustang convertable with the bride and groom? The light was amazing as it came through the trees and cast beautiful patterns on the pathway. At the reception in Lake Oswego the couple made the right decision going with a wedding cake from His Bakery in Oregon City. They are beautiful cakes and the people that run the bakery are some of the best. Thanks Candace and Rory for planning a great wedding and having friends and family that can pull off a bubble grand exit.

Weatherford’s Grand Ballroom Wedding Promo

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day in April at the Weatherford’s Grand Ballroom in Oregon City. Not only is this ballroom perfect for a mid-sized wedding, but it comes with a beautiful bride’s room with enormous vintage windows. If this wasn’t enough the groom and groomsmen get to hang out in the billiards room while sipping on cognac. From a photographic standpoint the Weatherford’s is located in a killer section of Oregon City. It’s next door to the newly renovated Oregon City Fire Station and one block from beautiful old brick Carnegie Center and surrounding park. I still think of The Carnegie Center as the Oregon City Public Library. I remember going downstairs to the children’s section and thinking how gigantic it was.

The flowers were provided by Kay Dietl at Flowers for You. She is an amazing florist in Milwaukie. The bridal flowers and table settings were flawless. The wedding jewelry was created by Shawna Zawadzki with Stella & Dot who did a great job of matching the mood of the day. The necklace was the perfect detail to the pool table photo. Unique wedding details are so much fun to photograph and you will never regret any little personal twist you put on your special day.
